I Love Me.

Posted on: February 14th, 2013 by Lisa Van Wyk No Comments

Romantic bride with a wedding bouquet

I love me when I’m ugly, I love me when I’m sad.

I love me when  the sun goes down and I’m  very, very mad.

When people break me down, and say I’m not enough.

Even when I save too much, and fall amongst my stuff.

When lights are low and the sun is high.

I’ll never forget to love me right.

To forgive myself and receive God’s grace.

If He can love me, there’s no disgrace.

I’m a fumbling work in progress, a life that’s in the works.

Whether I’m on the right path, or have fallen off,

I can’t give up, because His love is enough.

It comes out in lyrics, a little word, or poem.

A smile, a tear, or sympathetic ear.

I have to love me,  no matter what others hear.

When I’m misunderstood, or told my good isn’t good.

I’ll still love me, because my Father would.

When the skies are dark and grey.

When the earth passes away.

I’m loved beyond the madness and brilliance of the day.

Farther than the rivers, wider than the sea.

Higher than the mountains.

In the valleys He’s carried me.

All because I’m worth it, All because I’m me.

I’ll never stop.  I’ll never stop.  I’ll never stop loving me.
